Many decades ago in the Northern Mountainous region of India, 60 families of Sahaspur village were traditionally involved in handloom as their main source of livelihood. With the passage of time, handloom products were replaced by machine made products. Slowly, people started leaving this business and started alternative livelihoods.

To try revive the handloom culture using natural fibres, dyes and create a sustainable model for the community, the Rural Livelihood Mission implemented a program in collaboration/intervention with the United  Nations (UNDP). 

The program worked with 37 artisans to help develop a range of products that were inspired by the mountains using natural dyes like turmeric, LAC (derived from the secretion of insects yielding shades of red ) , leaves and flowers, (thus the earth tones ) . From there slowly the community started to see that traditional work can sustain livelihoods and so they continue in this manner.

Each piece is made from natural fibers and features a soothing palette of earthy hues, deep ochres, warm terracottas, soft beiges, and muted browns reflecting the raw beauty of nature. The texture is soft yet sturdy, with a gentle drape that enhances their organic appeal.
